独特のクールな雰囲気から、野心とは程遠いイメージのスカーレット・ヨハンソンだが、だまされてはいけない。本業の映画女優はもちろん、ハリウッドきっての"恋多き女"として、最近も24歳年上の大物俳優、ショーン・ペンとの破局が話題になったばかり。そんな彼女が、今度は音楽で新たな"大役"に挑んだ。
2008年にはアメリカの大御所シンガー・ソングライター、トム・ウェイツの楽曲をカバーしたアルバム『Anywhere I Lay My Head』で歌手デビューを果たしたスカーレット。批評家筋からもなかなかの高評価を得たこの作品に続いて、今回はフランスの伝説のスター2人が歌った楽曲に果敢に挑戦したという。
彼女が歌ったのは、フランスの国民的シンガー・ソングライターで、監督、俳優としても活躍した故セルジュ・ゲンズブールと、一時期、彼と不倫関係にあったフランスの超人気女優で歌手のブリジット・バルドーがデュエットした、1968年のヒット曲「Bonnie and Clyde」。これを、セルジュの息子、ルルー・ゲンズブールとともにカバーしたというのだ。
同曲は、ルルーが制作した父親セルジュのトリビュート・アルバム「From Gainsbourg To Lulu」（11月14日発売予定）に収録されている。アンニュイなヴォーカルはもとより、PVではBBに負けずとも劣らないセクシーな魅力を振りまいているスカーレット。本家とカバー、あなたはどちらがお好み!?
