年を重ね、さらにセクシーさを増していくエヴァ・メンデスが、『Marie Claire』誌の3月号で表紙を飾った。
今回の表紙では、ドルチェ＆ガッバーナのかなりゴージャスなボディスーツに身を包んだエヴァ。最近では、新作映画『Girl in Progress』で、娘よりも精神面が幼い母親を演じ、新境地を切り開いている。
エヴァは「彼女は本当に最悪よ。問題児なの。だけど私はとても愛しているわ」と、自分の役柄について語っている。「いまいち大人になりきれていない女性」の映画としては、シャーリーズ・セロン主演の『ヤング≒アダルト』も記憶に新しいところだろう。
子供の世話をほとんどせず、さらに自己愛の強い母親を演じるのは、エヴァが憧れるジュリアン・ムーアやアネット・ベニングといったベテラン女優のようになったり、一人前の女優としてみられるために使われるステップだ。エヴァは彼女たちへの称賛を述べ、彼女たちのようなキャリアを手にしたいと語った。
一方、私生活では新作『The Place Beyond the Pines』で共演したライアン・ゴズリングと交際中のエヴァ。インタビューでは肯定も否定しなかったものの、「彼は最高の共演者よ」とコメントしている。
