第69回ベネチア国際映画祭 『The Master』プレミア

ポール・トーマス・アンダーソン監督の最新作『The Master』が上映され、監督やホアキン・フェニックス、フィリップ・シーモア・ホフマン、マディセン・ベイティが登場した。『ザ・マスター』はフィリップ・シーモア・ホフマン演じるカリスマSF作家"ランカスター・ドッド"が、1950年代に独自の宗教をスタートさせる作品。その内容から、サイエントロジーの創始者L・ロン・ハバードとの関連が取りざたされている。

本作で見事に銀獅子賞（監督賞）、W主演賞（ホアキン・フェニックス、フィリップ・シーモア・ホフマン）、国際映画批評家連名賞の三冠を受賞した(2012年9月1日　ベネチア、イタリア)
