『レ・ミゼラブル』アン・ハサウェイ、スーザン・ボイルを研究していた

スーザン・ボイルがオーディション番組で「レ・ミゼラブル」の「夢破れて」を歌う姿が話題となったのは3年以上前の話だが、この姿がアン・ハサウェイに大きな影響を与えていたようだ。



映画「レ・ミゼラブル」でファンティーヌ役を演じているハサウェイは、自分が映画内でこの曲を歌う前にスーザン・ボイルのパフォーマンスをチェックしていたと話している。

<OK! Magazin>の取材に対してハサウェイは、「彼女の歌は素晴らしいと思ったし、番組出演に至るストーリーも心温まるものだったわね。私はファンティーヌを演じる前から、元気のない日に彼女の映像を見て気持ちを持ち直していたのよ。彼女が素晴らしいのはもちろんだけれど、サイモン・コーウェルのプロデューサーとしての計算や考えも面白いし、見ていて楽しいのよね!」と語っている。また、ハサウェイは楽曲がいかに自分にとって重要かについて以下のように語った。

「この人気がある歌を歌うこと、そして映画というプリズムを通過させて表現することは凄くエキサイティングだったわ。私自身の凄く深い部分というか、むしろ触れたくない部分まで探求する必要があったの。でもそれが自分の仕事だし、こういう仕事は記憶に残るから、自分の成長を助けるのよ」

映画「レ・ミゼラブル」は批判も多少あるが、12月25日の公開から今までに約88億円の収益を上げている。

Six-time Oscar nominee Glenn Close is the epitome of style at every age in this gorgeous green fishtail-hem gown and matching tuxedo-inspired jacket by Zac Posen. With simple hair, minimal makeup and very little jewelry, the "Albert Nobbs" star knows how to let a look shine.

"The Help" nominee Jessica Chastain had such an amazing breakout year in movies, and now she's topped it off with a dramatic Alexander McQueen black and gold gown for her first Oscars ever. This is the perfect fashionable exclamation point on her gorgeous awards season.

"My Week With Marilyn" nominee Michelle Williams is positively glowing in this bright coral strapless Louis Vuitton gown. She's had some fashion ups and downs this awards season, but tonight, she's a winner no matter what.

Oscar first-timer Milla Jovovich, who hosted the Sci-Tech Awards, showed off her softer side in a couture Elie Saab gown with all-over silver paillette detail. A Hollywood glam 'do and crimson lips finished the flawless one-shouldered look.

"The Artist" star Missi Pyle made an eco-friendly fashion statement in the Red Carpet Green contest-winning dress, designed by Valentina Delfino, which was made entirely of recycled polyester and silk from cruelty-free silkworms. Proof that you can go green and still be glam.

"The Help" star Octavia Spencer needs no assistance in the glam department. At Hollywood's biggest night, packed with all the hottest stars, this first-time nominee is a standout in a sequined platinum Tadashi Shoji gown.

"The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo" nominee Rooney Mara has finally seen the light! After an awards season spent looking like her dark and twisted alter-ego, this slinky and delicate white Givenchy number is a welcome and refreshing change.

"The Descendants" star Shailene Woodley is only 20 years old, and she's one of the few young stars who doesn't have a problem dressing her age. "It's Valentino Couture, and I'm obsessed with it," she said of her crochet-detailed long-sleeve gown. And so are we, Shailene.
Even if George Clooney doesn't take home another Oscar, he's got the gold that really matters on his arm: girlfriend Stacy Keibler is gorgeous in a form-fitting, draped, off-the-shoulder Marchesa gown. What a couple!
Tina Fey likes simple and elegant, and sometimes she gets a hard time about it, but not tonight -- this strapless Carolina Herrera gown fits her like a glove, with flattering peplum waist detail, and her hair and accessories make it one of her best looks ever.
"The Artist" star and first-time nominee Berenice Bejo is stunning -- which is why her Elie Saab gown is such a disappointment. The sheer long sleeves and sequin detail are lost in the super pale mint color, and her extreme 'do isn't doing the look any favors.
"The Help" star Emma Stone looks like a present, but not in a sexy "unwrap me" kind of way. Her crimson Giambattista Valli gown has a peekaboo at the neckline, but you'd never notice it -- that shoulder bow is too busy eating up all our attention.
She's an actress! A singer! A mom and wife! And now, Gwyneth Paltrow is going for the superhero title in this bright white Tom Ford gown with built-in long cape detail. Sure she's probably warmer than most of the ladies in gauzy gowns, but again, she's wearing a cape.
Presenter Jennifer Lopez doesn't like to cover up, so why does she even try? She's busting out of this sequined Zuhair Murad dress in more places than one. Avoid staring at her front-and-center assets, people -- her arms might Hulk out of those awkward sleeve slits and knock some sense into you.
Kate Mara is playing the part of supportive sister to Rooney, who is nominated and one of our best dressed. Too bad Kate's Elie Saab gown is sagging in the support department, landing her on the worst dressed. The pale blush color and floral bead embellishment are lovely enough, but the droopy one-sleeve detail really lets the look down.
"Bridesmaids" star and co-writer Kristen Wiig is looking less than festive in this blah beige J. Mendel gown, minimal makeup, very simple hair and few jewels. Did she forget that she was nominated?
"Bridesmaids" nominee Melissa McCarthy is one of our favorites, but this look is not her best. The funny lady's stylist called the color of this Marina Rinaldi gown "sienna rose," but it looks more like dust to us. A woman this fabulous deserves a dynamite pop of color.
Last year's big winner for "Black Swan" is just presenting this year, but she's still at the Oscars. I can't imagine that the invite said polka dots optional, but she went there anyway. The Christian Dior dress fits her well, and red is absolutely her color, but let's leave the prints for daytime sundresses please.
Usually black is a safe choice for looking classic and flawless on the red carpet, but that's not the case with "Bridesmaids" star Rose Byrne. This Vivienne Westwood sequined gown is too tight at the top, bunchy in the middle and not doing her flawless figure any favors. And those clunky shoes are a major misstep.
Dear Sacha Baron Cohen: It's not all about you. The star of the upcoming comedy "The Dictator" arrived in character in "John Galliano and Kmart socks" with Kim Jong-il's ashes in an urn, which he ceremoniously dumped all over E! host Ryan Seacrest. And this is supposed to make us excited for his movie?
"Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close" star Sandra Bullock looks extremely split in half and incredibly unhappy. This black and white Marchesa gown is ill-fitting, for starters, but it's the strange parasitic-looking applique around the waist that's really throwing off the look.
We adore Viola Davis -- she was a standout in "The Help," for which she was nominated, and always brings it on the red carpet, but this green Vera Wang dress reveals a whole new side of her. The color is fabulous, but the fit is off, the ruffle detail feels overly delicate and her, well, assets are a bit too out there.
