仏版『ELLE』誌が同性婚を支持、合法化も実現間近?

フランス版『ELLE』誌がこのほど、"すべての人に結婚を"号を発売し、同性間の結婚を支持する姿勢を見せた。

以下は『New York』誌のウェブサイト<The Cut>で紹介された、『ELLE』誌の編集長ヴァレリー・トラニアンのコメント。

「この論争はそもそも、"昔の人と今の人"、"右派と左派"、"同性愛者を嫌う人々と革新主義者"の間でなされているのではありません。ゲイもいれば、(同性間の)結婚を認めるカトリック教徒もいるし、(性差は今後生まれるであろう子どもに必要なものだという象徴主義に固執する)左派と右派の心理学者たちだっています。さらに、レズビアンの女性たちの体外受精(IVF)を支持する一方で、ゲイの男性たちが代理母を通じて子供をもうけるのは女性の身体を売り物にする行為だと非難し、認めないフェミニストたちもいるのです」

ここ何か月にもわたって、結婚の平等(つまり同性間の結婚)というトピックはフランス全土で大論争を巻き起こしてきた。国はLGBT(レズビアン、ゲイ、バイセクシュアル、トランスジェンダー)の人々に対しておおむね寛容であるにもかかわらず、フランソワ・オランド大統領が同性婚の合法化を打ち出したことに対し、何千人もの抗議者がパリの通りでデモを行なったのだ。

一方、フランスの前ファーストレディー、カーラ・ブルーニは昨年12月、フランス版『VOGUE』に対して、この問題では保守派の夫ニコラ・サルコジ前大統領の考えには賛成せず、同性婚や養子縁組を支持すると語ったとAP通信が報じている。

「もちろん賛成します。なぜなら、私にはこの状況に置かれている多くの友人が男女共にいるからです。そして両親がゲイの両親から成る家族に不安定さや道理に反する点はないことも知っています」と、カーラ夫人。

オランド大統領の法案は2月もしくは3月に投票が行なわれる見込み。可決されればLGBTの権利を支持する人々にとって、この10年間で最も大きな一歩となることだろう。
