言わずと知れた、2009年のアクション大作『G.I.ジョー』の続編『G.I.ジョー バック2リベンジ』が、北米週末興行成績で4,120万ドル(約38億7,200万円)を記録し初登場1位を獲得した。

3Dへの変換を理由に昨年6月から公開が延期されていた同作だが、日本でも6月8日(土)から一部劇場を除き3D公開される。キャストは人気シリーズ第6弾『ワイルド・スピード EURO MISSION』の全米公開も控える"ロック様"ことドウェイン・ジョンソンに、チャニング・テイタム(『21ジャンプストリート』ほか)、ブルース・ウィリス(『ダイ・ハード/ラスト・デイ』ほか)ら。監督は前作のスティーヴン・ソマーズに代わり、『ジャスティン・ビーバー ネヴァー・セイ・ネヴァー』のジョン・チュウだ。

2位は先週の1位だった3Dコメディー・アニメ『ザ・クルーズ/The Croods』。3位にはマルチな才能を持つタイラー・ペリーが監督・脚本を務めた『タイラー・ペリーズ・テンプテーション:コンフェッションズ・オブ・ア・マリッジ・カウンセラー/Tyler Perry's Temptation: Confessions of a Marriage Counselor』が、シアーシャ・ローナン(『つぐない』『ハンナ』ほか)らが出演のSF作品『ザ・ホスト/The Host』が6位にそれぞれ初登場した。後者は全世界で大ヒットした『トワイライト』シリーズの原作者、ステファニー・メイヤーによるSF恋愛小説の映画化作品。監督は『ターミナル』『TIME/タイム』のアンドリュー・ニコルだ。
