サッカー、韓国と日本どちらが強い? 韓国「ヤバイ日本の方が上かも...」焦りの声も

サッカー日本代表が4日夜、2014年ワールドカップ(W杯)ブラジル大会アジア最終予選B組でオーストラリアと1−1で引き分け、W杯出場を決めた。5大会連続5度目の出場となる。

いち早くW杯出場を決め、盛り上がる日本。このような様子を、隣の国、韓国のネットユーザーたちはどのように見ているのだろうか?


韓国のインターネットコミュニティーサイト「MLBPARK」には、試合翌日の5日夜、「ところで、今でも韓国サッカーは日本より上だと思っている人はいるの?」と題したスレッドが登場した。

投稿者は、早々にW杯進出を決めた日本代表を見て、自国代表に不安を感じたよう。「例えファーガソン監督が(韓国代表の)指揮を執ったとしても、今の日本には勝てない気がする」とし、特にこの1、2年を振り返ると日本は成長しているが、一方の韓国は人材不足(主に守備陣)にあるとの分析を書き込んだ。

すると、自国のことを弱気に捉えたこの意見に対し、多くのユーザーが猛烈に反発。

「日韓戦なら韓国の方が強い」
「ヨルダンに負けた日本のこと?」
「でも日本も大したことないと思う...」
「韓国人の半分以上は『韓国は日本より強い』と考えている」
「同レベルでしょう」
「韓国の方が上だとは思わないが、日本の方が上だとも思わない」
「韓国が次の試合で勝てばいいだけの話」
「日本も決して調子が良いわけではない」
「日本の方が組織力があるようだけど、人材が日本より劣るとは思わない」
「韓国は世代交代中だからね、完成度が落ちているだけ。差はない」
「日本がちょっと前に出ただけのこと。勝てない相手なわけがない!」

などと投稿者の意見を打ち消すコメントが集まった。

韓国はサッカーを始めスポーツの競技において、対戦相手が日本となると、異常なほど対抗心を見せ、熱く燃え上がる。実際、これまでのサッカー日韓戦の通算成績は韓国の方が大きく上回っており、「韓国が日本より下なわけがない」と考える人はかなり多い。そのため、自然とこのような反応が多く集まってしまうようだ。

だが、コメントから伝わってくるピリピリとした反応は、現在、韓国代表がおかれている状態も影響しているかもしれない。

というのも、韓国は日本がW杯進出を決めた同日、レバノンと引き分け、得失点差でA組首位に浮上したが、残り2試合の結果次第でW杯進出が決まるという不安な位置。同組2位のウズベキスタンとは勝ち点11点で並んでおり、イラン(10点)との差もわずかだ。

自国代表の不安がつきまとう状態で、投稿者の「日本には勝てない」発言は多くのユーザーを苛立たせ、憤慨させてしまったようだ。それだけ日本の調子が気になるということでもあるが...。韓国代表は11日、ソウルのワールドカップ競技場で、ウズベキスタンとW杯進出をかけ対戦する。
