「シュリ」「猟奇的な彼女」の仕掛人が語る新作『10人の泥棒たち』と韓国映画

韓国で『グエムル -漢江の怪物-』(06)の観客動員記録を塗り替え、昨年韓国映画史上第1位の超絶メガヒット作になった『10人の泥棒たち』。本作を配給するライブ・ビューイング・ジャパンの代表取締役会長・大里洋吉氏が、「30年違うな」と日本映画界との差を指摘した。


世界に1つしかない幻のダイアモンド"太陽の涙"をめぐって、10人の男女が争奪戦を展開するトリック・エンターテインメント! ロマンス、アクションと映画的な醍醐味が満載で、10人の野心が交差する先読み不能なプロットも観る者の感情を刺激する。違う作品だが、リュ・スンワン監督の『ベルリンファイル』などハード系の韓国映画は相変わらず面白く、この"圧倒的に面白いほうの韓国映画"を大里会長は長年追い求めている。「『シュリ』(99)を観た時に20年先を行っている国だと思ったけれど、『10人の泥棒たち』を観て30年だと思ったね(笑)。ノースタントのワイヤーアクション、緻密なストーリー、演技力が高い魅力的な俳優たちが集った映画じゃないですか。そう思わないほうがおかしいよ(笑)」。

何を隠そう大里会長は『シュリ』(99)、『JSA』(00)、『猟奇的な彼女』(01)などを日本に紹介した張本人で、そのいずれをもヒットに導いて韓国映画に市民権を付与した功労者だ。その後"いわゆる韓流ブーム"が来たが、これは大里会長のイメージとは大きく違った現象だった。「ベタっとした、ナヨナヨっとした恋愛ドラマはね、好きかって聞かれれば、冗談じゃないくらい嫌いだよ(笑)。面白くもないドラマのDVDを勢いでたくさん買って、どうなのって思っていました。猫も杓子も韓流ドラマって大騒ぎしていた時代がありましたね」。



その苦い経験を踏まえ、『10人の泥棒たち』で会長直々に宣伝に出ていく。「そうね(笑)。ただ、ブームは困る。『シュリ』(99)の時に問いたかったことは、韓国映画はレベルが高いということ。ワールドワイドなアイデアでターゲティングを行い、映像作品としての技術が伴っていますよね。『10人の泥棒たち』を観た時に思い出して、もう一度配給をしようと」。

そして、「日本映画は、焦ったほうがいい(笑)」と警鐘も鳴らす大里会長。「頭5分で分かるような映画を作っていてはダメ。出会ったことないよ、『10人の泥棒たち』みたいな日本映画に。大げさじゃなく、このままでは映画産業は衰退しちゃう。どう、過激だろ(笑)?」。

映画『10人の泥棒たち』は、2013年6月22日(土)より、全国2週間限定ロードショー

According to reports October 20, 2011, the former leader of Libya Muammar Gaddafi was killed while fleeing Libyan fighters who had overrun his hometown of Sirte.
