出会い系で知り合った男といきなり家デート→犬とテレビを盗まれる事案が発生


最初のデートで自宅に相手を招いた女性が、散々な目にあってしまった。


4月17日、米ニュージャージー州に住む女性が、出会い系で知り合った"ジョエル"という名の男を自宅に招待。なにか用でもあったのか、相手を少しの間だけ1人きりにしたところ、なんとこの"自称ノエル"は、サムスン製のテレビと女性の愛犬(ヨークシャー・テリア)を盗み、そのままトンズラしてしまったのだ。自称ノエル、最初から盗み目当てだったのだろうか。日本円にして40万円相当の犬(!)と30万円相当のテレビを盗むというのは、目の付けどころがいいというかなんというか...。



しかし事態が急変したのは、それから2日後の4月19日。<buzzfeed.com>によると、この日の早朝3時ごろ被害者の女性から警察に、「自宅の庭に盗まれたテレビが置いてあって、そこに愛犬がつながれている」と連絡があったというのだ。

警察はチャットの記録に残された"ジョエル"なる男の写真などをもとに捜査を開始。男の本名はハニー・アーメッド(23歳)と判明し、事件から5日後の4月22日深夜に逮捕された。

なぜ盗んだものを返却したのかは謎だが、この記事を読んだ人々からは

「なんで最初のデートで男を家にあげるのか...」
「自分だったらよく知らない人に住所を知られたくないけどね」
「ネットで出会った人とデートしちゃダメだって」
「ヨークシャー・テリアが4,000ドル相当ってのが驚きだわ」
「純血種の犬だとそれくらいの値段になるよ」

と、被害者の女性への同情よりも、その軽はずみな行動に対する疑問の声、さらには犬の値段についてのコメントで溢れる結果に。

ネット上での気軽な交流が、こういったリアルな被害につながることもあることを改めて気づかされる出来事である。気をつけたいところだ。
