故マンデラ元大統領追悼式の「でたらめ手話通訳男」がCM出演、物議を醸す


昨年開かれた故マンデラ元大統領の追悼式において、「さあパーティを始めよう! 大きな魚、小さな魚、段ボール」という支離滅裂な"でたらめ手話"を披露したとして一躍有名人となった男が、なんとCMに登場し再び話題となっている。


でたらめ手話男ことタマサンカ・ジャンティ氏が出演したのは、ライブ配信用アプリ「ライブレンズ(Livelens)」のウェブCM。「ハーイ! マンデラ追悼式のタマサンカです」という自己紹介の時点で若干イラッとさせられるが、このCMの意図はまさしくそこにあるのだろう。

続いてタマサンカ氏は「私はプロの手話通訳です。信じてください」と言うが、女性の声で「私は...手話は...してません」と吹き替えが。さらに謝罪を述べるも、「ワタシ、有名人。セレブ。お金のために働いてます」と、まったく正反対に吹き替えられてしまう。そう、これは彼が起こした事件をおもいっきりネタにしたCMなのだ。

アプリを開発したイスラエルの会社は他意はないと説明しているようだが、YouTube上には

「これは最高の"釣り"だな」
「彼は新たなレベルに到達した」
「同じ南アフリカ人であることが恥ずかしい」
「彼は精神病を患っているのよ」
「それどんな病気だよ!?」
「この会社、ボイコットしてほしいのか?」

などなど、批判を中心に様々な意見が寄せられている。

最後には謎のダンスまで披露し、さらにイラッとさせてくれるタマサンカ氏。これでネタCMじゃないなんて言われてもちょっと無理があると思うのだが...。
