マクドナルドのワールドカップCMをあのイケメン俳優が監督、評判も上々
ついに開幕した「FIFAワールドカップ ブラジル大会」。自国を応援する人は多いと思うが、複数の国に縁のある家庭ゆえの葛藤と、その劇的な解決法を描いたマクドナルドのCMが登場した。

サッカーの試合観戦をしようと、ルイス君の自宅に友達がやって来る。友達は皆、自分たちの国であるアメリカを応援しており、それはメキシコ系アメリカ人のルイス君も同じ。だが父親や他の家族は俄然、母国メキシコ派のようで...。
明らかに不機嫌そうに息子の名を呼ぶ父親。彼の友達をも厳しい表情で威嚇し、試合前から気まずいムードが漂う。まさか"家庭内W杯 メキシコVSアメリカ戦"に突入するのか?
ひとたび試合が始まると、互いの国を夢中で応援しまくるルイス君と父親。やはり親子だからか、ふとした仕草もそっくりだ。そして何気なく、マクドナルドのポテトに貼ってあるシールをはがす2人。そこでリオデジャネイロ行きのチケットが当たったことを知った2人は、「ルイス!」「パパ!」と大喜びでハグし、家庭内冷戦はあっけなく終わりを迎えるのだった。

メキシコが母国の父親を持ちながらも、アメリカが母国の息子ルイス。移民の国・アメリカでは珍しくない状況を1分の映像に収めたのは、映画『天国の口、終りの楽園。』や『ルドandクルシ』のディエゴ・ルナ。彼自身も、メキシコ人の父親とイングランド出身の母親という異なるバックグラウンドを持つ両親がいるだけに、このCMも非常にナチュラルな仕上がりとなっている。
