放送事故!?子供が「オトナのおもちゃ」を振り回すCMの破壊力がスゴすぎる


銃社会アメリカの一般家庭では護身目的で銃を所持している家もあるが、時にずさんな保管が悲劇を招くことがある。そしてこれを防ごうと、親たちに警鐘を鳴らすCMが登場した。


日本でも報じられているように、アメリカでは銃の乱射事件が毎日のように起きている。だが、銃で人を傷つけるのは犯罪者だけではない。一般家庭でも子供の手の届かないところに保管しておかないと、子供が銃を手にしてしまうことがあるのだ。

CMではまず、家の前で子供たちが出てくるのを待つ2人の母親の姿が。右側の母親Aは自分の子供を左側の母親Bに預けたようで、「(うちの)カイルはお行儀良くしてたかしら?」と尋ねる。カイル君を預かった母親Bは笑顔を浮かべながら「もちろんよ」と答えるのだが...。

母親Aに呼ばれて出てきた子供たちの手には、母親Bのものらしきバイブレーターが。その本当の使い方を知ってか知らずか、おもちゃとして遊ぶ子供たち。そこに「子供たちが(バイブレーターを)見つければ、遊んでしまうものです」というナレーションが続く。予想外の展開に唖然とし、思わず顔を覆ってしまう母親たちだった...。

最後に出てくる「銃は常に鍵をかけて保管すること」というメッセージの通り、ここで問題なのは、子供たちがバイブレーターが何なのかを知っているかどうかではない。今回はバイブレーターだから(=武器ではないから)まだよかったものの、これが銃だったら、暴発や誤射で命にかかわる事態を引き起こしかねないのだ。

少々ユーモアを交えながらも、親たちに銃を厳重に保管するよう警告したこのCM。視聴者からは

「これはよくできている」
「(子供たちが)こんなことをするなんて、思いもしなかった」
「笑ってしまったけど、効果的だ」
「銃だけでなく、バイブレーターもちゃんと隠しておけってことだよねw」
「実際に同じ経験をしたことがある親御さんもいるのでは?」
「30秒ながら要点をおさえている」

と、驚きの声だけでなく、好意的なコメントも少なくない。バイブレーターを出すあたり強烈ではあるが、家庭での銃による悲劇を防ぐには有効だろう。
